Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Passave ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. This Service is provided as an independent, free-to-use tool. If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service & Zero-Knowledge Architecture
Passave provides a zero-knowledge, encrypted digital vault for storing passwords and secure files. "Zero-knowledge" means that your data is encrypted locally on your device before it is transmitted to our servers.
Because we do not have your Master Password, we cannot decrypt your data. Consequently, if you lose your Master Password and your recovery keys, your data cannot be recovered by us under any circumstances.
3. User Responsibilities
- Account Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Master Password, WebAuthn credentials, and Secret Keys.
- Lawful Use: You agree not to use the vault to store illegal materials, distribute malware, or engage in activities that violate any local, state, or international laws.
- Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate email information during registration strictly for account recovery and verification purposes.
4. Service Availability & Modifications
Passave is a solo-developer project provided without guarantees of uninterrupted uptime. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We highly recommend utilizing the "Export Vault" feature regularly to maintain offline backups of your data.
5. Termination of Account
You may terminate your account at any time via the user dashboard, which will result in the immediate and permanent deletion of your encrypted data from our servers. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Passave, its developers, or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory.
